Purchasing ManagerDenver, CO | Construction / Project-Based OperationsA growing construction organization is looking for an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead procurement activities supporting projects throughout the Denver market.This is an excellent opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys being close to the business. You'll lead and develop a purchasing team, partner with project and operations leaders, negotiate with key suppliers, and help ensure critical materials and equipment are available when projects need them.The right person brings a combination of leadership, commercial judgment, supplier management, and hands-on problem solving. You'll have the autonomy to improve how purchasing gets done while remaining directly involved in the decisions that have the greatest impact on project outcomes.What You'll DoLead day-to-day purchasing and procurement activities for a regional operation.Coach, develop, and support purchasing team members.Partner with project management, estimating, operations, and field teams to anticipate material and equipment needs.Lead or support project buyouts, sourcing efforts, and major purchasing decisions.Identify long-lead items and supply risks early enough for project teams to respond.Monitor critical orders, lead times, supplier commitments, and material availability.Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, delivery commitments, and other supplier agreements.Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and trade partners.Step into complex purchases, supplier challenges, and project-critical issues when needed.Balance cost, schedule, quality, availability, and risk when making sourcing decisions.Help prioritize purchasing resources across multiple active projects.Improve purchasing processes, documentation, controls, and workflows.Provide project and operations leaders with clear, timely updates on procurement risks and priorities.What Makes Someone Successful in This RoleYou'll likely thrive here if you:Are comfortable leading a team while staying hands-on when the situation calls for it.Have strong negotiating instincts and sound commercial judgment.Know how to prioritize when several projects need attention at once.Take ownership and expect the same level of follow-through from your team.Build credibility with both internal project teams and external suppliers.Communicate potential problems early instead of waiting for them to become emergencies.Can make practical decisions without always having perfect information.Enjoy coaching people and helping them become stronger decision-makers.Look for practical ways to simplify processes and make purchasing more efficient.Stay composed in a fast-moving, deadline-driven environment.QualificationsRelevant experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, construction, manufacturing, project-based operations, or a related field.Previous leadership, supervisory, or team development experience.Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.Strong negotiation and supplier-management skills.Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.Ability to manage competing priorities across multiple projects.Clear written and verbal communication skills.Comfortable working with standard business and productivity software.BenefitsCompetitive Pay: Health InsuranceDental InsuranceVision InsuranceLife Insurance401(k)Paid Time OffPaid HolidaysCar Allowance
