Therapist - Speech Language Pathologist

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide specialized speech-language pathology services to inpatient populations, evaluating and treating patients with communication and swallowing disorders. Deliver care within a collaborative healthcare team, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and compliance with licensing and safety standards.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing functions to develop individualized treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions to improve communication and swallowing abilities.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and adjust treatment strategies as needed.
• Document patient progress and clinical findings accurately in transcripts and electronic health records.
• Comply with facility and licensing regulations, including BLS and state licensure requirements.
• Adapt to unit and patient needs, floating as required within scope of practice.

Qualifications:

• Valid Kansas or Compact Speech-Language Pathologist license in hand.
• Minimum of 1 year of inpatient therapy experience.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to travel within a 50-mile local radius and float to related units.
• Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
