Databricks / Scala Spark Developer

Akkodis is seeking a Databricks / Scala Spark Developer for a Contract with a client in Burlington, MA. The ideal candidate will Designs, builds, and manages Databricks ingestion and ETL pipelines while handling workspace configuration, cluster optimization, and job scheduling to deliver reliable, high-performance data solutions.

Rate Range: $45/hour to $49/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.


Databricks / Scala Spark Developer Job Responsibilities include:

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable data ingestion and ETL pipelines using Scala Spark within Databricks.
• Configure and manage Databricks workspaces, clusters, and associated resources to ensure performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and maintain Spark jobs and workflows, including scheduling and monitoring using Databricks Jobs.
• Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust data engineering solutions.
• Perform performance tuning, debugging, and optimization of Spark and Databricks workloads.
• Ensure data quality, reliability, and adherence to best practices across end-to-end data pipeline implementations.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
• 8-10+ years of overall experience in ScalaSpark data engineering and largescale data pipeline design.
• Strong handson experience with Databricks, including ingestion/ETL pipeline development, workspace and cluster configuration.
• Proven expertise in ScalaSpark development with exposure to PySpark, job scheduling, and workflow orchestration in Databricks.

Pay Details: $45.00 to $49.00 per hour
