Road & Rail Services is hiring a dependable, safety-focused Repairman to join our team in Loudon, Tennessee. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working with tools, solving mechanical problems, and keeping equipment in safe operating condition. As a Repairman, you will inspect railcars, identify defects and maintenance needs, perform authorized repairs, and help ensure equipment meets company, customer, and railroad requirements.

If you have experience in mechanical repair, industrial maintenance, automotive repair, welding, fabrication, railroad operations, manufacturing, construction, or other skilled trades, we want to hear from you.

Inspect railcars and related equipment for visible damage, wear, fatigue, defects, and potential safety concerns. Identify mechanical and structural conditions requiring repair or maintenance. Perform authorized railcar repairs in accordance with company and customer requirements. Repair, replace, adjust, or secure railcar components as assigned. Use hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and other approved repair equipment. Assist with opening, inspecting, repairing, and closing railcar doors and related components. Perform basic troubleshooting to identify the cause of equipment or component problems. Complete minor fabrication, cutting, grinding, fastening, or related repair work when qualified and authorized. Inspect completed repairs to ensure work meets required quality and safety standards. Report significant railcar damage, unsafe conditions, and equipment problems to supervision. Follow all company, customer, railroad, and facility safety procedures. Properly use and maintain assigned tools and equipment. Inspect tools regularly and report maintenance or replacement needs. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Complete repair and maintenance assignments within required timeframes. Accurately communicate completed work and outstanding repair needs. Work cooperatively with team members to meet daily safety, production, and quality goals. Perform additional railcar repair, inspection, and maintenance duties as assigned.

Ability to recognize damaged, worn, loose, or improperly functioning components. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced industrial environment. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness to learn railcar inspection and repair procedures. Team-oriented attitude and dependable work habits. Valid state-issued driver's license. Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment. Previous experience in railroad repair, industrial maintenance, automotive or diesel repair, welding, fabrication, manufacturing maintenance, heavy equipment, construction, or a related mechanical trade is preferred.

This is an active, hands-on position performed around rail equipment and in an industrial environment. Candidates must be comfortable: standing and walking for extended periods; bending, reaching, twisting, climbing, crouching, and performing repetitive movements; using hand tools, power tools, and other repair equipment throughout the shift; handling and positioning materials, tools, and railcar components; walking and working on uneven surfaces; working around railcars and other industrial equipment; working outdoors in heat, cold, rain, wind, and changing weather conditions; working in dusty and noisy environments; safely opening, closing, and working around railcar doors and components; wearing required personal protective equipment throughout the workday; working assigned hours, including overtime or weekends when operationally required.

Starting Pay: $25.00 per hour.
