Job Summary As our Sterile Processing Professional, you will be a critical guardian of patient safety, ensuring surgical teams receive correct, fully functional, and sterile instrumentation. Every day, you will expertly perform decontamination, prep and pack, sterilization, and dispatch with efficiency, expertise, and accuracy, delivering instruments with resourcefulness, determination, courtesy, and professionalism. You will continuously expand your knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation. Responsibilities Troubleshoot equipment within the department. Prepare the work area at the beginning of each shift. Maintain a clean and safe work area at all times and participate in routine cleaning activities (e.g., sterilizers, surface areas, storage carts). Transport and decontaminate all soiled instrumentation and equipment to a state of cleanliness and disinfection, disposing of all infectious items according to established procedures. Maintain customer focus and service responsiveness by answering incoming calls in a timely manner and responding to emergency requests immediately. Assure accuracy in the assembly and packaging of all necessary instrumentation, special trays, and equipment for sterilization. Inspect and lubricate all instruments according to manufacturer recommendations to ensure cleanliness and proper working order. Required Qualifications High School Graduate upon hire or High School GED upon hire. More than 1 year of experience upon hire. Certification: None required upon hire. Preferred Qualifications Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST).
