At Badger Meter, your contributions will ripple far beyond the workplace - creating lasting change for people and the planet.What You Will Contribute:The Production I Materials is responsible for the support of all departments (plant and administration) in the Milwaukee Facility and for observing safe work habits and maintaining cleanliness of work area. You will proceed under general supervision and your work will be subject to process and final inspection in accordance with Badger Meter's quality management system. You may be assigned to work in other departments or perform other duties as instructed by management.Job Duties:Packer:Fills customer parts orders from floor stock and shuttlesReplenishes stock per service parts shortage reportProcesses inventory transactions in inventory control system resulting from stock replenishmentUtilize inventory control system to print and review releasable order report and release customer orders.Prepares materials for shipment to other Badger Meter facilities and prepares appropriate shipping documentsAbility to read and understand customer ordersPrepares and packs customer orders for shipment, double checking parts for pick accuracy.Packs parts securely into cartons per most recent department standards and methodsMaintains carton stock at stationProcesses courier packages through computerized shipping system.Packs configured customer orders, Office Services orders, and miscellaneous shipping ordersSets up and operates hot stamping and engraving machines as part of the identification procedure for meters and partsStores Keeper:Performs diversified material movement tasks by utilizing hand, power trucks and electric hoistLocates, selects, and issues productive materials, parts and assemblies to requesting departments throughout the plant and work centers for current shift production and staging of next-shift start up as directed by management or cell workersReceives, counts, weighs, records, prints ID tags and stores production materials and parts and performs the related inventory transactions in inventory control and production reporting systemsPerforms floor to file cycle counts and quarterly inventory audits. Removes ID tags from all reusable containersPerforms loading and unloading of trucks, pallets, trays, racks and shelves by hand as required or with electric hoistPrepares the necessary documents for product processed by outside vendors. Consolidates inventory in bins to reduce storage space neededMay fulfill pick lists, resupply orders and outside operation ordersShipping/Receiving:Performs diversified distribution tasksUtilizes power trucks to move product throughout the plantReceives, identifies, inspects and enters into the inventory control software all incoming materialsDelivers the incoming materials and parts to production and support departmentsLocate, prepare and stage for pick-up outgoing shipments, checking quantities against the customer orders and adhering to special shipping and labeling requirements of the material and customerProcess shipments through the Transportation Management SoftwareLoads and unloads outgoing and incoming truck shipmentsLoads trailers and prepares documents for product going to other Badger Meter facilitiesUnloads trailers from other Badger Meter facilities verifying incoming products to supporting documentationEducation and Experience:High School Degree/GED preferred0-1 years of related experience preferredQualifications:Basic ability to read and understand customer orders requiredBasic proficiency with computers requiredAbility to pass internal forklift and hazmat training if applicable requiredBasic skills in mathAbility to read, write and speak English requiredCompetencies:Work Standards: Setting high standards of performance for self and others; assuming responsibility and accountability for successfully completing assignments or tasks; self-imposing standards of excellence rather than having standards imposed.Initiating Action: Take prompt action to accomplish work goals; take action to achieve results beyond what is required; be proactive.Communication: Convey information and ideas clearly and concisely to individuals or groups in an engaging manner that helps them understand and retain the message; listen actively to others.Collaboration: Work collaboratively with others across the organization to achieve shared objectives.Working Conditions:Work is performed in a manufacturing environment.Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds.Must be able to pass audiogram test.Competitive Total Rewards at Badger Meter:Competitive PayEligible for Annual Pay IncreasesComprehensive Health, Vision, and Dental Coverage15 days Paid Time Off + 11 Paid HolidaysTwo Ways to Save for Retirement: Badger Meter contributes 25 cents for every dollar you contribute to the plan, up to 7% of your eligible compensation.
