OverviewCome Find Your Spark at Quartz! Quartz is seeking a team-oriented, problem-solver to join our Infrastructure Team as a Lead Systems Administrator. The Lead Systems Administrator will provide expertise in design, administration, maintenance, and support of the infrastructure systems and processes Quartz trusts to provide world class insurance solutions to its members. This position will design and build solutions, architect, and implement new software and hardware, provide training and mentoring, troubleshoot and remediate anomalies, and assist in the development of overall IT strategy. This role will also mentor team members and collaborate closely to organize work and develop team skills. Works with stakeholders to gain deeper understanding of requirements that are unclear.Provides leadership and guidance to create and execute architecture and engineering plans for moderate to complex technology projects and solutions.Actively participates in assigned projects to ensure analysis, design, testing, and implementation tasks meet project goals and design standards.Provides technical leadership, mentorship, and feedback to System Administrators, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.Evaluates new technologies and tools, conducting proof-of-concept experiments to validate feasibility and potential business impact.Performs server and system administration tasks, including group policies, print services and queue management, event log monitoring, security permissions, drive and volume management, OS provisioning, migrations, upgrades, and performance tuning.Designs, builds, tests, and deploys new systems, services, and processes to meet ongoing business needs.Performs routine maintenance including updates, patching, backups, snapshots, configuration management, and disaster recovery.Leads development of internal and cloud infrastructure standards. Guides technology decisions by partnering across functions to ensure best practices are developed and followed.Develops and maintains scripts to automate routine tasks.Administers and maintains applications required to support network, servers, and technical operations and service.Support audit and compliance activities as needed.Participate in on-call rotation.QualificationsBachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience in systems administration roleOR associate degree with 9+ years of experience in a systems administration roleOR high school equivalency with 12+ years of experience in a systems administration roleExperience with the following:Basic Linux administrationWindows administrationProvisioning and managing SAN/vSAN/HCI infrastructureMS IntuneManaging certificate infrastructureManaging backupsMFA (Multi-Factor Authentication) solutions MS Office 365Supporting services in an ITSM frameworkQuoting solutions with vendors and partnersProficiency writing, supporting, and updating & writing scripts in SCCM (PowerShell)Proficiency in VMware vSphere, SRM administrationKnowledge of cloud infrastructure elements and functions (Azure)Knowledge of network, web and application related protocols and infrastructure (VPNs, vlans, TCP/IP, IPsec, SSL/TLS, routing, switching, firewalls)Knowledge of ITIL frameworkAbility to effectively communicate and work with multiple vendors, managed service providersAbility to work outside of business hours as neededMust be inquisitive and seek out answers without being askedAbility to manage multiple priorities simultaneously, work independently, under pressure, and be adaptable to changeExcellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skillsAbility to work outside of business hours as needed in on-call rotationHardware and equipment will be provided by the company, but candidates must have access to high-speed, non-satellite Internet to successfully work from home.We offer an excellent benefit and compensation package, opportunity for career advancement and a professional culture built on the foundations of Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness and Relationships.
