Patient Service Representative I

Ensure efficient and professional telephone communications.
• Collects payments and co-payments for all services at time of the patient's exam.
• Demonstrates courtesy and helpfulness towards patients and their families.
• Scheduling Walk-in, STAT, and Same Day Appointments.
• Cancelling/Re-Scheduling No Show and incomplete exams as well as confirming next day
appointments.
• Escorts and directs patients to dressing rooms and lockers for changing into exam gowns.
• Prints out all patient paperwork and assembles patient's charts on behalf of Rad Technologists.
• Demonstrate cooperative, positive and professional patient care and customer service.
• Demonstrates commitment to organizational goals.
• Attend all mandatory in-services and training.
• Verify and process patient benefits/responsibilities for upcoming appointments.
• Confirm next day appointments.
• Other duties as assigned


EDUCATION
High school diploma/GED equivalent is required.


EXPERIENCE
• Minimum of six months experience as a medical receptionist.
• Experience with customer service and multi-phone lines and knowledge of proper phone etiquette.

Understanding of HIPAA with the ability to maintain confidentiality of information.


SKILLS
• Must demonstrate excellent patient care skills.
• Basic typing and keyboarding skills, with a familiarity of computers and general office equipment.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.


ABILITIES
• Ability to understand basic medical terminology.
