Michigan City, Indiana Emergency Medicine Physician Locum Tenens Opportunity

Rhino Medical is leading the charge seeking Indiana-licensed Emergency Medicine physicians for a locum tenens opportunity in Michigan City, Indiana. You’ll provide Emergency Department care in a 15-bed setting with 24-hour physician coverage and APC support, with clinical scope that includes moderate sedation.

Opportunity Details

• Location: Michigan City, Indiana
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens
• Setting: Emergency Department in a community hospital
• Approximately 17,000 annual ED visits
• 15-bed Emergency Department
• 103 hospital beds
• 24 hours/day physician coverage
• 10 hours/day APC support

Clinical Scope

• Emergency Department evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition
• High-volume Emergency Medicine practice environment
• Moderate sedation procedures
• Collaboration with APCs and multidisciplinary team members
• Documentation and order entry using the facility’s modern EMR

Practice Environment

• 15-bed Emergency Department within a 103-bed hospital
• Modern EMR with streamlined charting workflows
• Low-volume, high-efficiency Emergency Department environment

Schedule Details

• 12-hour shifts
• APC support for 10 hours per day

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Indiana medical license
• DEA registration with an Indiana address
• Board certification in Emergency Medicine (ABEM/AOBEM) or an ABMS-recognized specialty with Emergency Medicine experience
• Current BLS/CPR certification
• Current clinical certifications required for Emergency Medicine practice
• Experience providing Emergency Department care in a high-volume environment
• Ability to perform moderate sedation procedures
• Recent or ongoing Emergency Medicine experience (new graduates acceptable; EM residency graduates within the past 12 months may be considered)

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with moderate sedation procedures
• Recent Emergency Medicine residency graduation (within 12 months)
