Cardiovascular Procedure Coordinator

Schedules, obtains precertification, and coordinates care for patients requiring outpatient cardiovascular procedures and diagnostic testing. This position requires providing service to the following age population(s) adult through frail elderly in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. Operating Room or Procedural area experience preferred. Per Diem

Education/Training/Experience: (indicate if required or preferred)

High school diploma required. Competency using a computer and current software is required. Ability to verbally communicate information to staff and patients, professionally and in a timely manner is required. Two years medical office experience required. Scheduling experience required. Familiarity with medical terminology, insurance, billing and CPT/IC9 coding required.

Physical Demand Analysis:

Physical Requirements: Must be able to sit, stand, and walk within department and throughout medical center as needed. Light lifting for files, papers and other routine office materials.

Visual Requirements: Must be able to read printed documents as well as computer screen visuals.

Hearing Requirements: Must be able to conduct telephone and personal conversations and comprehend recorded dictation

Working Conditions: Fast paced medical office environment.
