Job Description As a Claims Representative, you will play a critical role in helping policyholders recover from unexpected losses. You will investigate and resolve minor physical damage claims, provide exceptional customer service, and make timely coverage and liability decisions. This role requires strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills to ensure a positive claims experience while delivering fair and accurate outcomes. This position is based in our Presque Isle, Maine office and will follow a hybrid schedule (3 days in office, 2 days at home) outside of training. What You’ll Do: Investigate and evaluate claims by reviewing policy coverage, gathering facts, and determining liability and damages. Communicate with policyholders, claimants, repair facilities, and other involved parties to provide timely updates and guidance throughout the claims process. Manage a caseload of claims from initial report through resolution while meeting quality, service, and regulatory standards. Analyze claim documentation, estimates, and supporting information to make informed settlement decisions. Negotiate and settle claims within established authority levels while ensuring fair and equitable outcomes. Identify potential fraud indicators, coverage concerns, or legal issues and escalation as appropriate. Maintain accurate claim documentation and records in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support efficient claim resolution and a positive customer experience. What you Bring: Minimum of 1-3 years of insurance, customer service, sales or other related professional experience. Experience investigating, evaluating, or resolving customer issues and making informed decisions based on available information. Experience managing a workload independently while maintaining quality and service standards. Experience communicating effectively with customers, vendors, and internal stakeholders. Proficiency with technology and business software applications. Essential Functions The essential functions of this position include investigating, evaluating and resolving auto physical damage claims. These duties require the ability to work for extended periods at a computer, review and synthesize numerical and written information and interact effectively with internal and external stakeholders. This position is primarily performed in an office or remote work environment and requires prolonged periods of sitting and computer use. The role involves frequent verbal and written communication, participation in virtual and in person meetings, and occasional travel to client or company locations. The organization will engage in an interactive accommodation process as needed. Compensation Range The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $24 – $27/hour. This position may be filled at different levels depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications and the final title, level, and compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and overall fit for the role.
