The Warehouse Worker safely and efficiently handles incoming and outgoing shipments, ensures accurate order fulfillment, and maintains a clean and organized warehouse environment. This role involves frequent heavy lifting, careful attention to detail, and the operation or learning of warehouse equipment in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

• Unload merchandise from incoming shipments in a safe and timely manner.
• Pull tires and other materials to match invoices, pick tickets, or bills of lading.
• Load outgoing shipments accurately, securely, and in the correct sequence.
• Verify all incoming and outgoing loads, documenting any overages, shortages, and damaged merchandise.
• Read and match item numbers and sizes to ensure orders are accurate and complete.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dock areas and warehouse workspaces.
• Follow all safety guidelines, company procedures, and warehouse best practices.
• Use warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and RF scanners, to move, track, and process inventory.
• Support shipping and receiving activities, including packing, material handling, and order picking.
• Work collaboratively with team members to meet productivity and quality goals.

Essential Skills

• Previous forklift experience.
• Experience in a warehouse or shipping environment.
• Proficiency with shipping and receiving processes.
• Order picking experience.
• Packing and material handling experience.
• Ability to use RF scanners for inventory and order processing.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
• Ability to lift 75100 pounds safely and repeatedly.
• Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate order fulfillment.
• Dependable and punctual work habits.
• Safety-focused mindset and team-oriented approach.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Comfort working with tires and other heavy materials.
• Ability to quickly learn and operate additional warehouse equipment as needed.
• Strong organizational skills to maintain orderly dock and storage areas.

Work Environment

This role is based in a non-climate-controlled warehouse environment, where temperatures may vary with the seasons. You will work on a busy dock and warehouse floor, using equipment such as forklifts, RF scanners, and other material-handling tools. The position requires frequent heavy lifting, extended periods on your feet, and consistent movement throughout the shift on a first-shift schedule. You will work closely with a team in a safety-focused, fast-paced setting where maintaining a clean and organized workspace is essential.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kirksville, MO.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
