Phlebotomist

Phlebotomist – Smithtown, NY Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 6:30 am – 3:00 pm and rotating Saturdays 7:00 am – 12:00 pm Job Responsibilities Perform blood collections by venipuncture and capillary techniques for all age groups Collect specimens for drug screens, paternity tests, alcohol tests, etc. Enter patient information accurately and promptly Process billing information and collect payments when required Prepare all collected specimens for testing and analysis Maintain patient and specimen information logs Provide superior customer service to all patients Perform administrative and clerical duties as necessary Travel to additional sites when needed Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Preferred Qualifications Phlebotomy certification or completion of a training program from an accredited agency One year or more experience performing blood collections by venipuncture Additional Job Standards Proven track record in providing exceptional customer service Strong communication skills, both written and verbal Ability to work independently or in a team environment Comfortable working under minimal supervision Reliable transportation required Flexibility to work overtime as needed Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test Pay Range $17.75 – $26.00 per hour Benefits Employees scheduled to work 20 or more hours weekly are eligible for comprehensive benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, STD/LTD, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO) or Flexible Time Off (FTO), Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Employees working fewer than 20 hours or on a 7 on/7 off schedule are eligible for a limited set of benefits as described. Phlebotomists may be eligible to participate in the PST Incentive Plan, which pays a quarterly bonus based on performance metrics.
