Utility Technician IThe Marvin Group is a Strategic Partner for Global Alternate Mission Equipment and Sustainment. The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. Our collaboration extends across a diverse array of programs and platforms, including major military prime contractors such as Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, and Raytheon.Responsibilities:Ensure compliance with proper material, parts and product handling at all times.Adherence to procedural requirements for packaging and unpackaging of materials, parts and product.Follow all Safety regulatory and company policies and procedures.Assist Operations work centers with Assembly and/or Manufacturing processes.Use basic hand tools, i.e., screwdrivers, wrenches, pliers, hammer, ratchets & sockets, ruler, calipers.Perform quality work checks to insure the product meets quality standards.Identify defects and take appropriate measures communicate and follow established non-non-conformance procedures.Perform all work in accordance with highest quality standards and safety procedures.Maintain a clean and safe work area.May operate Forklift, electrical or manual palletjacks, cranes and jib hoist. Able to bend, twist, walk and stand for entire shift.Perform other duties as required.Skills / Requirements:Maintain awareness and understanding of documents published in the BMS LibraryAerospace experience (a plus)High School Diploma or GEDUnderstanding of ERP SystemsBasic reading skillsMust be able to follow directionsOffice Suite - Excel, PowerPoint, WordAbility to perform work accurately, timely and thoroughlyAbility to use thinking and reasoning to solve a problem, with thinking in such a way as to produce a new idea and conceptsDetailed-oriented and self-motivation skills1-2 years forklift experience (a plus)Must be able to speak/read/write EnglishMust be able to lift up to 35 lbsSalary: $ 16.82 - $ 23.07Work Environment:Manufacturing and/or Machining environmentFast paced, people and parts movementThe noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to mediumExposed to a combination of potential odors from chemicals and/or processesPhysically demandingUse of Personal Protective Equipment requiredNotes:This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this position's employee(s).
