Work Shift Night (United States of America) Job Summary Coordination, prioritization and efficient use of all beds within the hospital for surgical cases, cardiac cath lab cases, vascular institute cases, special procedures, direct admissions from MD office or home, ER admissions, unit to unit transfers and transfers in from other facilities. The applicant must have excellent computer, telephone and customer service skills. The applicant must be able to keep accurate data to reflect patient location, bed usage, bed availability and patient flow timing. Core Responsibilities And Essential Functions Maintenance of accurate and centralized information for all patients requiring placement in the hospital Coordination of all procedural and surgical schedules for priority and accuracy of placement Coordination of all admissions into the hospital (direct admission, ER, and hospital-to-hospital transfers) Coordination of unit-to-unit moves to facilitate opening appropriate beds as needed Communication of information related to patients requiring placement Evaluation of all procedure and surgical schedules for patients requiring bed assignments post procedure and communication of this information to the appropriate unit Evaluation of all ER admission requests for appropriate information for determination of placement Processing of information from physicians’ office for accuracy regarding direct admits for proper placement and communication of this information to the appropriate unit Communication with the House Supervisor regarding all patients requiring admission from another hospital Notification of Bed Control Manager or House Supervisor of questionable admission for assistance from Utilization Management Basic computer knowledge is required Proficiency in utilization of Pre- Admit and Bed Tracking is required Proficiency in utilization of Star Navigator is required Proficiency in utilization of PHS for schedules is required Proficiency in use of Word and Excel is needed for data collection and monitoring Job requires utilization of telephone and computer simultaneously Creatively utilize resources with the ability to think outside the box to meet the needs of patients needing beds Know when to ask assistance from Manager, House Supervisor or Coordinator Customer Service skills must always be utilized during all tasks Communication of patient requiring critical care placement to Unit Bed Coordinator of Critical Care and House Supervisor Accuracy in obtaining information to call in the On-Call Teams for either Cath Lab or CVOR, calling in team, obtaining bed and notification of House Supervisor Performs other duties as assigned Complies with all Wellstar Health System policies, standards of work, and code of conduct Required Minimum Education High School Diploma General Required Minimum License(s) And Certification(s) All certifications are required upon hire unless otherwise stated.
