Position Summary

Responsible for the day-to-day care of the residents and building. This Includes providing personal care services, instrumental activities of daily living, communicating with outside providers, and working as a team with your co-workers. Must be willing to go the extra mile to provide quality care for each of the residents living at Comfort and Love Wichita.

Education and Experience:

1. Must be a Certified nurse aide/ Certified Medication Aide in the State of Kansas.

2. Must not be listed as Prohibited in the State of Kansas Registry

3. Must be able to pass a background check

4. Must enjoy working with older adults and the local community

5. Must be capable of performing multiple tasks simultaneously

Qualifications:

1. Desire to work with the elderly in an environment that upholds their privacy, dignity, choice, independence, and individuality.

2. Maintains a positive, energetic, and enthusiastic “can do” attitude.

3. Ability to recognize and address problems appropriately.

4. Good communication skills and the ability to relate to the public, residents, families, staff, and other professionals appropriately.

5. Ability to work independently with little direct supervision, yet to respond well to direction and guidance.

6. Knowledge of the requirements for providing care and supervision appropriate for elderly residents.

7. Good character and a continuing reputation of personal integrity.

Responsibilities:

1. Provide hands-on care for resident.

2. Keep the building clean and neat.

3. Provide assistance with all resident Activities of Daily living including dressing, bathing, grooming, feeding, transferring, walking, mobility, toileting, etc.

4. Provide assistance with all resident Instrumental Activities of Daily living including meal preparation, shopping, transportation, use of telephone, laundry, housekeeping.

5. Will manage medications under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.

6. Will prepare and administered medications under the guidance of the Registered Nurse.

7. Reorder or return medications to pharmacy.

8. Communicate with pharmacy as needed to meet resident needs.

9. Communicate with families as directed by your direct supervisor as necessary.

10. Perform resident medical treatments as ordered by the Physician.

11. Follow the plan of care as it relates to resident care.

12. Complete all daily task required by CMA on shift.

13. Report any changes in resident status to the Registered Nurse.

14. Ensure the safety of residents and participate in evacuation drills as scheduled.

15. Assist the kitchen staff in cleaning dishes, clearing the table, serving the residents meals.

16. Answer the company phone promptly as needed “Comfort and Love Wichita this is *insert name* how may I help you”.

17. CMA can be assigned floor shift (excludes med pass)

Reporting Relationship:

Supervised By: Executive Director, Clinical Supervisor and Administrative Assistant

Lifting Requirements:

Ability to perform the following tasks if necessary:

· Ability to participate in physical activity.

· Ability to work for extended periods while standing and being involved in physical activity.

· Moderate to heavy lifting (greater than 25 pounds.)

· Ability to do extensive bending, lifting, and standing on a regular basis.

Beautiful Home Plus, Assisted Living, and Memory Care environment. A small intimate setting for up to 12 residents and 2 care team members as well as a Chef in each of the 3 homes, all within walking distance of each other.
