Project Manager - Water/Wastewater

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager - Water/Wastewater to lead the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects from planning and design through to construction, commissioning, and handover. This role will involve managing projects across water treatment, wastewater treatment, pumping stations, pipelines, reservoirs, and associated civil and mechanical works. You will be responsible for ensuring that projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and regulatory standards.


Key responsibilities will include developing and maintaining project programmes, budgets, risk registers, procurement plans, and construction methodologies. You will coordinate multidisciplinary design and delivery teams, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and effective decision-making throughout the project lifecycle. You will monitor progress, manage change control, resolve technical and commercial issues, and provide accurate reporting on performance, costs, risks, and milestones. The role will also require strong attention to health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements, including compliance with relevant legislation, permits, specifications, and industry standards.


The successful candidate will have a degree or equivalent qualification in civil engineering, construction management, project management, or a related discipline, together with proven experience delivering water or wastewater infrastructure projects. A recognised project management or engineering certification would be advantageous. You should have strong knowledge of contract administration, construction practices, programme management, cost control, and contractor management, with experience working under common forms of engineering or construction contracts. Excellent leadership, negotiation, organisation, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage competing priorities and build effective relationships at all levels. A proactive, commercially aware, and solutions-focused approach will be highly valued.
