The role focuses on realistic energy and utilities scenarios where careful jurisdictional analysis and clear explanations matter. You will analyze regulatory questions, explain the reasoning behind your conclusions, review other contributors’ work, and identify facts or legal issues that could change the outcome. Analyze questions about rate design, tariff structures, market structure, and compliance obligations. Apply legal reasoning to scenarios involving FERC, state public utility commissions, and ISO/RTO practice. Identify unsettled issues, jurisdictional conflicts, and facts that may affect the result. Review and validate other contributors’ work for legal accuracy and clear reasoning. Document the analysis, flag unclear scenarios, and deliver assigned work at the required quality level. Experience: At least four years of substantive, hands‑on energy and utilities regulatory practice. Relevant background: Advising utilities, independent power producers, or energy regulators. Knowledge: Rate design, market structure, regulatory compliance, and FERC, state public utility commission, or ISO/RTO practice. Additional background: A corporate law foundation is required, ideally including experience at a Vault 100 firm. Prior AI training experience is not required.
