The Chillicothe VAMC provides primary care, mental health, and long‑term care services to approximately 73,000 veterans. The facility is an active ambulatory care setting and serves as a chronic mental health referral center for VA Medical Centers in southern Ohio and parts of West Virginia and Kentucky. See the links below. Chillicothe Visitors Bureau: Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce: Hiring and Duties The Chillicothe VAMC is recruiting for a full‑time Primary Care doctor. Clinic hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00am – 4:30pm. Will also include rotating assignment to on‑call Medical Officer of the Day, once or twice a month as needed. Some weekend and evening coverage may apply. Applications will be accepted from all qualified physicians, but preferred areas of specialties are: Internal Medicine or Family Practice. Requirements Current, full, and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States or in the District of Columbia. Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. Degree must be obtained from a school approved by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed. All billable providers entering VA employment must register a National Practitioner Identifier (NPI). All providers entering VA employment must be able to qualify for a DEA number. Duty/Alternate Duty Locations: Chillicothe, Ohio, Main Campus. Employees may perform duties at nearby CBOCs as required.
