Accounting Manager

Lead and oversee daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable, Payroll, Purchasing, General Ledger, and Cost Accounting functions

Manage and mentor a team of 4+ accounting professionals in a stable, self-sufficient environment

Partner closely with executive leadership to support financial strategy, reporting, and operational improvements

Ensure accurate financial reporting while maintaining compliance with GAAP and regulatory requirements

Supervise daily accounting activities and provide guidance to the accounting team

Manage month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of financial statements

Perform monthly balance sheet account analysis and reconciliations

Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for operating expenses and capital expenditures

Prepare and analyze financial reports to support business decisions

Assist with annual budget preparation and financial planning initiatives

Coordinate annual audits and prepare audit working papers

Ensure timely and accurate completion of required regulatory and financial reporting

Manage banking relationships and oversee financial service costs

Support loan applications, documentation, and funding requests

Provide financial guidance and support to various departments and locations

Assist with software implementations, system enhancements, and data reporting initiatives

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related field

3+ years of accounting experience with supervisory or management responsibilities

Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting principles

Experience managing month-end/year-end close processes

Background in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis

Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop and support a team

Experience in a cooperative environment preferred

CPA or advanced education is a plus

Advanced Excel skills

Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools

ERP/accounting system experience

Experience with NISC or utility-specific systems preferred
