Calibration Technician

Calibration TechnicianWe are seeking a full-time Calibration Technician at Garmin's U.S. headquarters in the Greater Kansas City area. In this role, you will be responsible for organizing and performing testing and/or calibration activities by reviewing schedules, operating equipment and producing accurate records. Essential functions include performing calibration, tests, and verification of equipment to authorized plans and procedures. You will review calibrations and equipment datasheets, manufacturer's calibration procedures and Garmin internal product schedules to implement actions to update test and calibration procedures, as identified. You will maintain and ensure the integrity of calibration records and equipment profiles. You will support quality functions in providing and maintaining test equipment, fixtures, and interconnects. You will follow schedules and perform basic tests and/or calibrations in accordance with plans and procedures. You will move work and test equipment to and from work areas and lift up to 55 pounds to effectively perform the essential functions of this job description.Basic qualifications include an associate's degree in electronics technology or vocational certificate in electronics, engineering technology, or related field or a minimum of 80 hours towards a bachelor's degree in electronics technology or related field or a high school diploma or GED with previous military training or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude related to using tools and measurement devices (hand tools, calipers, gages, etc.) and demonstrated strong electrical aptitude related to operating electrical equipment and test devices (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, etc.) are required. Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office (Access, Outlook, Word, and Excel) is also required.
