About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery Profession: RN Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: Not required for submission Certifications: ACLS, Advanced Fetal Monitoring, BLS, NRP Must-Have: - Experience in Labor and Delivery - Experience in Postpartum care - Willingness to float between units - Ability to circulate in C-sections Description: The unit operates with a total of 7 Labor and Delivery beds and 4 triage beds. There are 27 Postpartum beds available, including a 5-bed nursery. The average number of births is approximately 3 per day, totaling about 1545 births annually. Candidates must hold certifications in ACLS, BLS, NRP, and Advanced Fetal Monitoring. Ratios are maintained according to established guidelines. The electronic medical record system used is Cerner. Nurses will have charge nurse responsibilities and will also support OB techs in various tasks. Weekend shifts are required, with a total of 4 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule. Working on holidays will also be necessary, typically involving one major and one minor holiday. Scrubs must be navy in color. Additional support includes respiratory therapy and pharmacy available 24/7. Experience with high-risk deliveries and multiple diagnosis types is essential. Candidates should be prepared for Spanish-speaking patients and those with varied medical backgrounds. Nurses may float to help in the NICU or provide additional support as needed. Experience in circulating during C-sections is required, though scrubbing is not mandatory.
