Lead Pastor

We are looking for an Associate Pastor who is prepared to assume the lead role after an appropriate period of transition.  We are an SBC church with good facilities, a good location, and good people looking for an Associate Pastor that can take the lead from our current pastor.  We believe this action will help us better reach our community for Christ.  The right candidate will also position us for the future.  Successful candidates will be in agreement with the most recent Baptist Faith and Message and will support our mission and vision of reaching our community.

General Responsibilities     Dependent on spiritual gifts and aptitude of the person selected, the Associate Pastor serves alongside, and under the direct supervision, of the senior pastor.  His spiritual gifts and natural inclinations will help shape the nature of his ministry in this church.  After serving alongside for an appropriate period, in agreement with the senior pastor and church leadership, the Associate will transition into the Lead Pastor role.

Potential ministry areas of responsibility

Potential new ministries:   Identify unmet ministry needs and take actions to start new ministries.  This might include starting new worship services, starting area Bible studies, beginning discipleship ministries, beginning a practical ministry, identifying ministry opportunities associated with the new microchip manufacturing facility, etc.    

Working within existing ministries:  Helping plan worship services that lead to a spirit of worship.  May include helping with or leading music, preaching at worship services or outreach ministries (lake ministry, truck stop ministry, nursing home, or ministerial association events).  Help with existing community-wide food and clothing ministry and help with existing senior citizen ministry.

Required skills and traits

Demonstrated personal commitment to faithful discipleship  (1 Timothy 3:6-7, 10)

Demonstrated aptitude for leadership   (1 Peter 5:1-3)

Love for the nuclear family and preserving it as the successful launching pad for children who will serve and worship God in the future.

Love for the unlovable. 

Compensation

This is a full-time position with salary and benefits.
