Abatement and Right of Way Revenue Accountant

Job Title: Abatement and Right of Way Revenue Accountant Department: Department of Transportation, Caltrans Classification: Accounting Officer (Specialist) – Salary $5,266.00 – $6,591.00 per Month. Responsibilities Establish and maintain abatement billings for State highway, Non‑State highway, and vehicle damage claims receivable within specified areas of California. Analyze and verify accounts, records, and documents between Integrated Maintenance Management System (IMMS) and CGI Advantage, ensuring statutory and legal requirements are met. Perform reconciliations with Right of Way Management Information System (ROWMIS) and CGI Advantage accounting system. Communicate financial policy and accountability for the Right of Way Revenue Accounts Receivable Section. Analyze appropriateness of accounts receivable accounting transactions. Minimum Qualifications Current eligibility for Accounting Officer (Specialist) or Accountant Trainee as defined by state examination results. Valid driver's license required if operating a State‑owned or leased vehicle. Completion of a standard State employment application (STD 678) and submission of a résumé. College transcripts or equivalent proof of education. Desirable Qualifications Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word). Experience with accounts receivable, reimbursement processes, and familiarity with CGI Advantage. Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer‑service skills.
