Building Maintenance Technician - Job Description

Keep our facilities running at peak performance. As a Building Maintenance Technician, you'll inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair essential building systems-including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, boilers, refrigeration, motors, and pumps. You'll also handle general building upkeep such as carpentry, painting, landscaping, and snow removal to keep our property safe, functional, and looking great.
Key Responsibilities

• Facility System Maintenance - Inspect, calibrate, troubleshoot, and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
• General Building Repairs - Perform carpentry, painting, landscaping, and seasonal snow removal.
• Preventive Maintenance - Complete routine inspections, testing, and PM tasks to prevent equipment downtime.
• CMMS Documentation - Log all work orders and equipment history accurately and on time.
• Safety Compliance - Follow OSHA, state, and local codes; maintain clean, safe work areas; attend required safety training.
• Team Communication - Keep supervisors updated on repair status and system performance.

Essential Skills

• Maintenance Technician Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
• Carpentry and Painting proficiency
• Hydraulics and Building Systems knowledge
• Code Compliance understanding (national & local)
• CMMS Software familiarity

Work Environment

You'll work handson with building systems, tools, and equipment-both indoors and outdoors. Expect a mix of mechanical work, facility upkeep, and seasonal tasks that keep the job dynamic and engaging.

This is a Contract position based out of Joliet, IL.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
