The Project Engineer will organize and manage project and technical elements of projects to develop innovative solutions that meet or exceed customer expectations, on time and on budget.Key Areas of Responsibility:Develops project objectives through collaboration with customers, management and cross functional teams using VoC, product performance requirements and financial / timing targetsManages cross functional teams across multiple countries, consisting of internal and external resources, to explore product design options and translates plans into executable product designsUses mechanical engineering expertise, principles and processes to create and deliver innovative, customer focused product solutions to the marketplaceWorks closely with supply chain and manufacturing, across multiple countries, to ensure smooth transition of new designs into productionPrepares project status reports (using stage gate and other methods) by collecting, analyzing and summarizing informationRecommends actions to improve product performance, profitability, and time to marketCreates project schedules by calculating time requirements and sequencing project elementsMaintains project schedules by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities and resolving problemsCarries out feasibility studies for new product innovations, including conception, design and prototypingValidates designs and assures quality through the use of lab and field testingKey Performance Indicators:Must be able to create and maintain good relationships with internal and external customers and use information to improve products and processesMust be able to motivate internal and external resources to meet or exceed customer expectations and deliver products on time and on budgetMust be able to inform all levels of the business with the appropriate level of detailMust be able to cope with ambiguity and make decisions with limited data, while communicating and managing riskMust be able to organize complex work into executable action items that meet the required timingMust be able to solve technically complex problems and have the ability to learn new technical concepts to support the development of new productsJob Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical Engineering, MBA a plusMinimum 3 years of experience managing technical projectsMinimum 5 years of experience designing new products, consumer product design a plusExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability leading cross functional teamsExperience with design processes and tools; FMEA, DFM, DFA, FEAWhy Join Kinetico:Medical, Dental, Vision and Prescription Drug Insurance CoverageEmployer Provided Life Insurance, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability Benefits401(k) Contribution Matching ProgramEmployer Funded Defined Contribution PlanPaid Vacation, Holidays and Community Service Volunteer Time-off BenefitWellness ProgramEducational Assistance Reimbursement ProgramOur Commitment and Difference:Founded in 1970, Kinetico was started by two engineers who pioneered the development of non-electric, fully automatic water treatment systems.
