Neuro ICU Clinical Nurse Location Barnes‑Jewish Hospital - Plaza Tower, Neuro ICU (9400) – 9th Floor Overview The Neuro ICU at Barnes‑Jewish Hospital is a specialized, state‑of‑the‑art unit dedicated to the care of patients with complex neurological conditions. As a nursing professional in this unit, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team focused on providing advanced care for patients with traumatic brain injuries, strokes, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries, and other critical neurological disorders. Responsibilities Provide direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Promote patient and family‑centered care in a healing environment. Educate patients and their families on how to manage illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Engage in professional development. Develop, implement, and document individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team. Proactively plan and ensure communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs. Maintain a constant state of alertness and work in a safe manner as this is a safety‑sensitive position. Qualifications Education: Nursing Diploma or Associate’s in Nursing (minimum). Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Experience: No prior experience required; supervisor experience not required. Licenses & Certifications: RN.
