Physical Therapist Per Diem Opportunity 8‑hour day shifts; could vary between morning (8:00‑4:30) or evening (10:30‑7:00). Rate: $67.00 per hour. Summary Under the general supervision of the rehab manager or supervisor, the Physical Therapist performs therapy examinations, develops treatment plans and goals, and applies interventions in accordance with professional standards, state licensure regulations, and hospital policies to a variety of patients ranging from newborn to geriatric in an outpatient care setting. Opportunity for rotation to acute care sites may exist per operational need. Responsibilities Perform therapy examinations, develop treatment plans, and establish treatment goals with patient input utilizing evidence‑based practice and APTA recommendations to guide care. Provide care to special populations including oncology, lymphedema, amputee, spinal cord injury, stroke, total joint replacement, orthopedic and neurologic patients. Delegate and supervise patient‑related tasks to assistants, aides, and support personnel; supervise students as assigned. Collaborate with other disciplines to provide coordinated interdisciplinary patient care. Manage time effectively and demonstrate willingness to work a variety of scheduling patterns within individual control hours. Makes independent decisions within the scope of the defined job description, level of knowledge, skills and abilities, seeking guidance as necessary. Meet or exceed productivity and documentation requirements. Accept and utilize feedback constructively, demonstrating respect for others in open and constructive communications. Accept other duties as assigned; adhere to all department and hospital policies. Demonstrate flexibility and willingness for task change and engage in new programming. Participate as assigned in department quality improvement programs. Assist with prioritization of patient care. Contribute to peer review as required. Support excellence of the organization and customer satisfaction. Other Information New graduates accepted. Experience delivering comprehensive care in an outpatient setting to patients with physical dysfunction due to disability, disease, or injury, in accordance with professional standards of practice. Experience with diagnoses including low‑complex medical patients, orthopedic, oncology, and neurological patients. Credentials: Current license to practice in Connecticut; successful completion of minimum educational requirements for licensure including all clinical practice and comprehensive examinations.
