The Veterinary Assistant will provide essential support in a small animal clinic, working closely with veterinary technicians and multiple veterinarians to ensure effective patient care. This primarily clinic-based role involves assisting with animal care, monitoring patients, collecting samples, and communicating with clients to facilitate smooth operations within the practice. The position offers opportunities for growth, including pathways to become a veterinary technician and continuing education.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide care and comfort to animals during their clinic visits
• Monitor patient conditions and report changes to veterinary staff
• Collect samples such as blood, urine, or feces for testing
• Communicate effectively with clients regarding their pets' needs and appointments
• Schedule appointments and manage client records
• Maintain clinic sanitation and organize treatment areas
• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Entry-level experience in veterinary assistance
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Animal handling skills
• Basic knowledge of veterinary care
• Strong client communication abilities
• Teamwork and collaboration skills
• Time management and organizational skills
