Role Description The Hazardous Waste Professional is responsible for managing, handling, and documenting hazardous waste generated at Nammo Defense Systems Inc. This full‑time role is on‑site in the Greater Phoenix Area and involves coordinating waste identification, labeling, storage, and disposal in compliance with federal, state and local regulations. Day‑to‑day tasks include conducting waste inspections, maintaining accurate records and manifests, interacting with waste disposal vendors, and supporting environmental audits. The role also includes training employees on hazardous material handling procedures, supporting incident response, and collaborating with EHS, operations and quality teams to reduce waste generation and environmental risk. The Hazardous Waste Professional will help ensure continuous compliance, safe operations, and alignment with Nammo’s environmental and safety standards. Qualifications Knowledge of hazardous waste regulations and compliance (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA, EPA) and experience applying them in an industrial or manufacturing environment. Skills in hazardous waste identification, classification, labeling, storage, and manifesting, including coordination with approved disposal vendors. Experience with environmental health and safety (EHS) practices, including inspections, audits, incident reporting, and corrective actions. Ability to develop and deliver training on hazardous material handling, emergency response, and safe work practices to diverse teams. Strong organizational and documentation skills, including accurate recordkeeping, data entry, and use of EHS or compliance software systems. Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with operations, engineering, quality, and management in a fast‑paced, regulated environment. Relevant certifications (e.g., HAZWOPER, OSHA 30, environmental or safety certifications) are highly beneficial. Experience in aerospace, defense, or heavy manufacturing environments is a plus; associate or bachelor’s degree in environmental science, safety, industrial hygiene, or related field preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Nammo Defense Systems Inc.
