Production SupervisorThe Plant 4 Production Supervisor is responsible for the management of the Plant 4 manufacturing processes. The Value Stream Manager will assign the Production Supervisor to one of the following departments within Plant 4: Mixing, Conventional, ERH, or Conversion. This position provides leadership on the shift such that training objectives are accomplished, high levels of safety and quality are maintained, production schedules are met, and problem solving and decision making are facilitated. The Plant 4 Production Supervisor promotes a teamwork both on and between shifts as well as between departments. This position is responsible for maintaining records to comply with company procedures and applying policies/rules in a fair and consistent manner. The Plant 4 Production Supervisor should have a servant leadership approach with their teams and should foster a participative and structured work environment to promote active employee engagement and involvement.Duties & Responsibilities:Department Management: Providing leadership to shift personnel to meet desired outputReview work-in-process levels in all production areas to make recommendations and adjustments concerning equipment downtime, manning levels, and material qualityHold a clear understanding of plant information systems to maximize system uptime and to keep data areas to a minimumProviding report-outs during the daily boardwalkFilling in for other Production Supervisors when requiredSupervision & Employee Development: Uniformly enforcing and applying company policies and procedures to maintain fair and consistent work practicesProviding input and clarification where necessary to ensure communication and understanding between employeesReinforcing and teaching appropriate leadership actions with crew leadersProviding honest, objective, and specific feedback to provide a clear understanding of shortcomings and improvement areasSupporting and participating in employee task forces and problem-solving groupsFacilitating groups to maintain focus and provide necessary resourcesIdentifying personnel with the desire and skill to be trained and developed for other jobs with greater responsibilitiesQuality: Managing shift activities to meet the Plant's scrap, rework, and defect goalsProviding feedback and coaching to crews to obtain the desired continuous improvement goalsEnsuring that published processing specifications and grading standards are followedEnsuring that recommendations for changes and improvements are vetted and implemented where appropriateMaintain a working knowledge of plant processes to serve as a resource for internal and external decision makersMonitoring defect and downtime causes to provide feedback and recommendations to the Value Stream Manager for future improvementsTraining & Safety: Providing clear and consistent direction relative to maintaining and enhancing the plant's safety goalsMaintaining safety awareness through monthly shift safety meetings Conducting additional small group meetings as required to address specific needsReviewing accidents and near miss situationsCompleting and documenting incident reports in the designated database for use by managementMaintaining shift records relative to on-the-job training status for all department personnelInitiating manning assignments to address shortcomings and ensure that production goals are met with qualified personnelCost Reduction & Control: Fostering awareness of the plant's cost reduction goalsCoaching and encouraging crews to identify and implement cost savings ideasUnderstanding the concepts behind lean manufacturing and implementing them in the workplaceProviding leadership to obtain the data and details necessary for project justificationControls usage of supply items and recommending changes to maintain control or reduce costsSupporting major cost reduction efforts relative to materials or formulations by actively obtaining information and communicating it to department personnelCommunication: Coordinating the gathering and dissemination of information for production, Quality Assurance, and Human ResourcesInterfacing with Maintenance personnel on non-technical aspects when necessaryWill be required to perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and degree in Business Management or a related fieldExperience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment with proven experience in one or more leadership or
