CT Technologist - Per Diem The CT Technologist performs diagnostic testing according to established departmental procedures, ensuring the delivery of quality patient care. The CT Technologist performs diagnostic testing as directed by the physician at a competent technical level not requiring constant supervision. This position operates diagnostic equipment, including peripheral equipment, in a safe and efficient manner to obtain optimal test results. The CT Technologist manages the patient during the diagnostic procedure to meet patient care standards. This position ensures supplies are maintained and reports problems with equipment to the appropriate staff member. This position actively participates in and supports student clinical education activities where applicable. This is done while supporting organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts, and demonstrating a commitment to teamwork and cooperation. Qualifications License/Certification BLS for Healthcare Providers required Licensed by the State of NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) required Registered as American Registry of Radiology Technologist in Computed Tomography (CT) required Education Graduate of an accredited radiological technologist school required Experience 1-year diagnostic testing experience preferred Candidates must possess ability to multitask, with attention to fine detail in a fast‑paced environment Proficiency in Clinical Applications preferred at time of hire; incumbents within the position will be trained appropriately and then skill will be required within 30‑60 days from date of hire NJDEP State License expires every two years and must be renewed biennially to work ARRT expires on incumbent's date of birth and must be renewed annually to work Work Environment Potential for exposure to the hazards and risks of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood‑borne pathogens, potential injury, and hazardous substances such as electromagnetic radiation. Position requires the ability to stand a majority of the time; technologists performing MRIs must sit in front of a CRT monitor most of the time. Position requires extensive pushing, pulling, and lifting of patients and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The department’s Assessment and Evaluation Tool lists the essential functions of this position. Reporting Relationship This position reports to the CT Supervisor.
