Job Title: Progressive Care Unit RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Stepdown Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Certification, NIHSS Must-Have: Description: 24-bed unit with a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:3 or 1:4, depending on acuity. Patient population includes individuals with dysrhythmias, cardiopulmonary issues, sepsis, high flow oxygen needs, and behavioral patients requiring IV drip medications. The unit has an educator who works closely with staff. Types of medication drips administered include dopamine, levophed, cardizem, heparin, precedex, nitroglycerin, amiodarone, dobutamine, and nicardipine. Staff may be required to work every other weekend. High throughput is expected, consistent with stepdown units. Cancellation policy allows for 3 shifts per 13-week contract or 2 shifts per 12-week contract. Charting system used is EPIC.
