International Purchasing Specialist

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for an International Purchasing Specialist to join our New Berlin, WI team in Department 650.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following:

• Supplier Communication communicate with suppliers to obtain quotes, availability, and delivery schedules. Maintain strong relationships with suppliers.
• Order Processing / Management utilize SAP ERP system to prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with company policies. Monitor order status & follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery. Keep system current with arrival dates. Coordinate with Accounting, Logistics, and Receiving teams to manage payments, importation of goods, and transportation receipts.
• Inventory Management - Assist in tracking inventory levels consistent with current demand, trends, bookings, and impact orders.
• Documentation & Reporting - maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier communications, and inventory levels. Work with reports on purchasing activities & supplier performance.
• Compliance - ensure compliance with international trade regulations, product classifications, customs requirements, and company policies. Maintain shipment documentation as required for audit & compliance reviews.
• Team Support - collaborate with other team members to achieve departmental goals. Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance purchasing skills. Provide backup for other team members as needed.
• SAP experience a plus.
• Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or six months to one year of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. SAP experience preferred.

Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating, maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write reports and business correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Mathematical Skills Be able to do buy vs make analysis using basic costing analysis. Understanding of Engineering drawings, dimensions, and tolerances.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardization situations.

Computer Skills - Use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SAP.
