Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The registered nurse will provide comprehensive care to adult patients with medical surgical diagnoses, ensuring patient safety and well-being. This role involves performing routine nursing duties, monitoring patient status, and collaborating with healthcare teams to deliver quality care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess and monitor patient vital signs, labs, EKGs, and heart monitor readings.
• Administer medications, manage titratable drips (heparin, Bumex, Lasix), and troubleshoot respiratory equipment.
• Collaborate with charge nurses and assist ancillary staff in patient care activities such as bathing, feeding, toileting, turning, and positioning.
• Document patient information accurately in electronic health records and communicate findings to healthcare providers.
• Follow infection control protocols and contribute to safe working environments.
• Assist with emergency interventions and respond to monitor alerts as needed.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active RN license with BLS certification; ACLS preferred.
• Possess at least 1 year of recent medical-surgical nursing experience.
• Be able to titrate drips (excluding cardiac drips) and handle common patient diagnoses such as pneumonia, UTI, AMS, GI bleed, alcohol withdrawal, and falls.
• Have the flexibility to work rotating day and night shifts.
• Willing to take PCT training or have CNA certification.
