Veterinary Specialty Center, a 24-hour Emergency and Critical Care employee-owned veterinary hospital, has an exciting opportunity for an energetic, self-motivated, and professional individual to join our team in an exciting environment. Our Ward/Kennel Attendants learn how much they enjoy the veterinary field so they often move up within the hospital and become Veterinary Technician Assistants or they even decide to go back to school and become Veterinary Technicians or Veterinarians.

We are looking for a responsible, hardworking individual with emotional maturity to work alongside our energetic and dedicated staff. This position is full-time, entry-level, physically demanding, yet very rewarding.

Starting salary is $17.00/hour. Please note: Starting wage may be higher than listed depending on your experience.
Key responsibilities:
- Restraining patients as needed during treatments and exams
- Basic care for pre-op and post-op patients
- Observing patients and keeping accurate records
- Admitting and releasing patients
- Cleaning of runs & cages and other basic cleaning tasks
- Stocking all departments with food, towels, and blankets for our patients

VSC is the first and only employee-owned specialty and emergency hospital in Illinois and only the second in the entire country! We have over 330 employees at our only location, which is about 40 minutes just outside of Chicago in Bannockburn, IL. We are extremely collaborative and foster a very active learning environment for our staff, residents, interns, and externs. Our specialties include surgery, rehabilitation and integrative medicine, internal medicine, emergency and critical care, anesthesia and pain management, radiology, neurology, oncology (medical and radiation), cardiology, dermatology, nephrology, and clinical pathology.
