Aircraft Composite Tech

Aviation Technology Associates (AVTECH Global) is looking for an Aircraft Composite Tech. Pay Rate: $21.21 to $33.81 per hour (depending on experience, location, etc.) Job Type: Full-time, Contract Contract Duration: 12 months (w/opportunity for extension) Benefits: coverage of up to one-half of employee's medical insurance premium for a base plan eight (8) paid holidays per diem split (if qualified) three (3) sets of uniforms (if applicable) opportunity to become a direct hire after ninety (90) days Experience/Education: High School diploma/GED. Experience requirement ranges from 1 year related composite experience to 5 years of related experience in composite manufacturing processes. Unique Skills: Valid driver's license may be required. Participation in a DOT/FAA drug and alcohol program may be required. Purpose: Perform one or more of the following composite part manufacturing functions: lay-up, cutting, bagging, autoclave, trimming, and/or repair, in a production environment. Level I Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Manufacture composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team-oriented work environment. Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations. Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection. Maintain and use all logs and records. Example: MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI, etc. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations. Support Lean activities. Basic computer skills. Ability to work with composite resins and materials. Requires ability to read a interpret blueprints. Read and interpret "6" scale. Level II Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Manufacture a variety of composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications, in a team-oriented work environment. Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review. Read work orders, blueprints, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations. Must be skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6" scale, 1" micrometer, 6" dial caliper. Check all work and ensure a defect free assembly prior to inspection. Maintain and use all logs and records. Example: MIR sheets, DMTs, Crabs, PCOs, DR/DI, etc. Maintain a neat and orderly work area, support the company FOD and 5S programs, and comply with all safety regulations. Support Lean activities. Level III Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Provide specialized technical assistance and interact with team members to resolve manufacturing issues. Demonstrate the ability to meet the requirements of the Manufacturing Competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review. Proficient at reading work orders, blueprints, specifications, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations. Must be skilled in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6" scale, 1" micrometer, 6" dial caliper. Level IV (i.e., Sr) Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Function as a team member and assist in providing technical direction to other team members. Possess the ability to organize and perform new job tasks with a working knowledge of other parts and part numbers. Establish priorities and assist in the development of work schedules. Must be proficient at directing and monitoring the work of team members. Willing to perform the job functions of a team leader in their absence. In a team-oriented work environment, manufacture a wide variety of composite aircraft parts to meet manufacturing specifications. Possess the ability to perform close tolerance work. Must demonstrate leadership ability and possess good communication skills. Demonstrate ability to plan, organize, execute, and obtain objectives with minimal direction. Demonstrate ability to meet the requirements of the manufacturing competencies at the appropriate level in the Employee Effectiveness Review. Proficient at reading work orders, blueprints, aircraft specifications, lofts, sketches and operation sheets to determine sequence of operations. Must be proficient in the use of special tools and equipment to include precision measuring devices such as 6" scale, 1" micrometer, 6" dial caliper. Thorough knowledge of manufacturing procedures and specifications, plant safety, tooling, and quality requirements. Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot manufacturing processes. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Must possess leadership skills and the ability to communicate and impart knowledge to others. Other Requirements: Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
