Trading Assistant

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced professional to join their team as a Trading Assistant. Responsibilities Provide operational and analytical support to investment and trading teams across a variety of financial products and strategies. Manage daily trade activity and oversee key aspects of the transaction lifecycle, including booking, reconciliation, settlement coordination, and issue resolution. Monitor trading activity, positions, and operational workflows to ensure accuracy and timely execution. Partner with internal stakeholders to improve processes, enhance reporting capabilities, and support ongoing infrastructure initiatives. Assist in the development of automation tools and scalable workflow solutions to increase efficiency and reduce manual processes. Utilize technical and analytical tools to support reporting, data management, and operational initiatives. Coordinate with external counterparties and service providers to facilitate smooth operational processing. Support a dynamic, fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field preferred. 2–7 years of relevant experience within financial services, operations, analytics, trading support, or related environments. Exposure to financial products, capital markets, or investment operations preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with an interest in process improvement and technology. Experience with Python or similar programming languages preferred; additional technical skills are a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
