This position provides academic, behavioral, and social‑emotional support to students who are suspended, credit‑deficient, or in need of a more structured learning environment. The role also includes supporting students in Lindbergh Academy and the Missouri Options (Mo Options) Program to ensure continued progress toward graduation. The successful candidate will help create a safe, supportive environment while promoting student growth and successful transitions back to traditional settings or post‑secondary pathways. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the development and continuous improvement of the alternative suspension program model Establish clear routines, procedures, and expectations for student success within the program Contribute to program evaluation through data collection (attendance, behavior, academic progress) Collaborate with district leadership to ensure alignment with district policies and state expectations Implement behavior intervention strategies, including restorative practices and de‑escalation techniques Support students in developing self‑regulation, accountability, and decision‑making skills Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and support staff to implement individualized behavior or support plans Maintain a structured, safe, and supportive classroom environment Model and reinforce expectations aligned to district behavior systems (e.g., BIST or equivalent) Deliver standards‑aligned instruction across content areas, ensuring students maintain progress toward graduation requirements Differentiate instruction to meet diverse academic levels, including credit recovery and accelerated learning when appropriate Collaborate with the middle schools and the high school to align coursework, pacing, and grading expectations Utilize blended, digital, and project‑based learning strategies to engage students in non‑traditional settings Support Missouri Options students in completing coursework, preparing for assessments, and meeting program requirements Monitor progress toward completion, graduation, or credential attainment Maintain accurate documentation and compliance with program expectations Maintain regular communication with students, families, and sending schools regarding academic progress and behavior Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, including IEP/504 meetings when applicable Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and external partners to support student success Build positive relationships with students to foster engagement and trust Support student transition planning back to the traditional school setting or alternative placement Assist in connecting students to career pathway opportunities, work‑based learning, or post‑secondary options Reinforce employability skills such as communication, responsibility, and problem‑solving Maintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and behavior documentation Ensure compliance with district policies, state regulations, and program requirements Support documentation related to discipline, interventions, and academic progress Qualifications Valid Missouri teaching certificate (required) Certification in secondary education, special education, or related field preferred Experience working with at‑risk or alternative education populations strongly preferred Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and trauma‑informed practices Strong classroom management and relationship‑building skills Position Type: Full‑Time Job Requirements Citizenship, residency or work visa required Contact Information Melanie Rouggly, Assistant Principal, Lindbergh High School, Email: View email address on click.appcast.io Equal Opportunity Employer: Lindbergh Schools considers applicants for all positions without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, veteran status or any other legally protected status. #J-18808-Ljbffr Lindbergh-Schools
