Step into an impactful contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a Special Education Teacher. This full-time role spans the academic year, providing dedicated service to students for 35 hours each week. The position is located onsite at a local elementary campus and seeks a skilled educator passionate about making a difference in students’ lives.

Ideal candidates bring experience in special education, demonstrate flexibility, and show confidence working in diverse classroom environments. While a Special Education Educator Certificate is preferred, those holding an Elementary Grades 1-5 Certificate and a strong commitment to inclusive teaching practices will be considered. The role offers the chance to support a varied caseload and be part of meaningful educational journeys.

Qualifications:

  • Active Louisiana Educator Certificate required (Special Education certificate highly preferred; Elementary 1-5 considered)
  • Experience teaching in special education or inclusive settings
  • Ability to adapt to new environments and varying student needs
  • Strong classroom management and organizational abilities
  • Dedication to fostering student growth and collaborating with school teams

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate IEPs tailored to student goals
  • Provide differentiated instruction and support within the elementary classroom
  • Collaborate with families, support staff, and multidisciplinary teams
  • Conduct progress monitoring and ongoing assessment
  • Create a positive, inclusive classroom climate that encourages student learning
