Senior Transportation Project Manager

Senior Project Manager Engineering (HDR) In the role of Senior Project Manager Engineering, we’ll count on you to: Direct and coordinate work of single or multidisciplinary teams throughout the project’s lifecycle (from development & initiation to close‑out) Take responsibility for all aspects of large multidisciplinary projects or medium‑sized projects with high technical complexity, involving a large project staff Manage and coordinate several projects concurrently Establish and maintain client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings Conduct work sessions for deliverable development with other staff and stakeholders Coordinate staffing and workload throughout the project life cycle, ensuring completion of deliverables on schedule Track financial aspects of projects and adjust work effort with the team to keep work within budget and schedule parameters Collaborate with Accounting, Operational and Business leadership for periodic project reviews Implement QA/QC procedures Supervise large project staffs and mentor less‑experienced Project Managers Perform other duties as needed Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree PMP certification 5 years of experience working on projects with state departments of transportation or equivalent Knowledge of Highway Capacity Manual, Highway Safety Manual, experience working with or for KYTC or TDOT Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering 10 years of related experience A minimum of 5 years project management experience Professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., Professional Engineer (PE or P.Eng) license) MS Office and MS Project experience (Access experience would be plus) Demonstrated leadership, business development, and strategic planning skills Commitment to being an active participant of our employee‑owned culture Primary Location: United States - Kentucky - Louisville Other Locations: United States - Tennessee - Memphis, United States - Tennessee - Brentwood, United States - Kentucky - Paducah, United States - Tennessee - Chattanooga, United States - Kentucky - Lexington, United States - Kentucky - Elizabethtown Industry: Highway + Road Schedule: Full‑time Employee Status: Regular Business Class: Transportation Planning Job Posting: Jun 17, 2026 #J-18808-Ljbffr HDR, Inc.
