Painter IPainter position is responsible for the painting of cabs and parts for Spartan's emergency response cabs and bodies.Job Responsibilities:Perform preventive maintenance on paint equipmentIdentify and spot repair paint defects in accordance to appearance specificationVerify cleaning chemical concentrationsPre-treat and prep cabs and parts for paintSpray base coat and clear coatMix tints following a formula to match paint codesMaintain accurate documentation of paint codesCoordinate material movement within the paint areaLoad and unload parts on racking or carts per process documentationLearn and retain skills and practices needed to complete duties in assigned areaRead and follow detailed operator instructions, installation drawings, blueprints, etcetera, as required by a particular areaSelf-check work and inspect prior processesUse basic hand, electric, cordless, and pneumatic tools, as requiredMeet production goalsMaintain a clean and safe work areaInitiate process improvementsSupport 5S in work areaCommunicate with manufacturing and other cross-functional teams (engineering, materials, purchasing, sales, etcetera) to resolve issuesWork in close proximity with customer, as neededSolve complex problems with minimal assistanceQualifications:Excellent attendancePositive attitudeStrong and consistent attention to detailSelf-motivated with the ability to stay on taskTeam orientedBasic computer skills are requiredNo critical shortcomings on last performance reviewTwo (2) years of Automotive Paint experienceDemonstrated understanding of Paint materials and cleaning chemicalsVocational training for automotive finishing, preferredAble to: Tolerate very high heat temperatures, high dust, and exposure to chemicalsWork overtime on short noticeBe willing to: Wear PPE respirators for extended amount of timeImprove self / area / company (including pursuing additional training, if needed)Develop a working knowledge of Spartan's systems (example: AS/400)Education and Other Requirements:HS Diploma or GED RequiredTerex Corporation is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
