Our client is currently seeking a Electrical Engineers for a contract-to-hire position.
Electrical Engineer, Test Site OperationsClearance: Active security clearance required
Experience: 3-7 years About the Role
As an Electrical Engineer supporting an active Navy test site, you will design, analyze, and review electrical and power systems that support high-demand test operations. You'll work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure safe, compliant, and reliable electrical infrastructure in a mission-critical environment. Responsibilities
• Develop 2D and 3D electrical designs using AutoCAD for power distribution, controls, and facility systems.
• Review technical requirements and translate them into compliant electrical system designs.
• Perform cable tray sizing, cable routing, and voltage drop calculations for new and existing installations.
• Conduct power system analysis and ensure designs meet NEC and other applicable codes.
• Support installation planning, field walkdowns, and design reviews for electrical upgrades.
• Collaborate with controls engineers to integrate electrical and control system requirements.
• Prepare documentation, drawings, and engineering packages for construction and implementation.
• Troubleshoot electrical issues and provide technical guidance during test-site operations. Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 3-7 years of experience in electrical design, power systems, or facility engineering.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD (2D and 3D).
• Strong understanding of NEC and electrical codes.
• Experience with cable sizing, routing, and voltage drop analysis.
• Knowledge of electrical controls and instrumentation.
• Active security clearance (required). Preferred Qualifications
• Experience supporting military, government, or high-security test environments.
• Familiarity with power distribution equipment, grounding, and protective devices.
• Ability to manage multiple design packages in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
