Stephen T. Fineman, CPA is a boutique CPA firm serving high-net-worth individuals and closely held businesses, providing tax compliance, planning, and advisory services. We are known for professionalism, responsiveness, and personalized client service.
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant for a full-time, on-site role. This position handles complex tax work, manages client relationships, and operates with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and review federal and state tax returns (individual, partnership, S corp)
• Manage tax engagements and ensure timely, accurate filings
• Perform bookkeeping and accounting support as needed
• Identify tax planning opportunities and provide recommendations
• Research tax issues and interpret regulations
• Communicate with clients and respond to tax notices
• Maintain organized workpapers and documentation
Qualifications
• 10+ years in public accounting
• Strong experience with individual and business tax returns
• Knowledge of federal and California tax law
• Proficiency in tax software and Excel
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field
• CPA preferred
Work Environment
