Company Overview

An established global consumer products company is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to join its growing accounting team. The company partners with well-known retail, wholesale, and ecommerce customers and is recognized for delivering premium products through a strong distribution network. This hybrid opportunity is based in Carlsbad, CA and offers a collaborative team environment with opportunities to contribute to process improvements and continued growth.

Location: Carlsbad, CA (Hybrid)

Compensation: $25-30/hour DOE + bonus eligibility

Position Summary

Reporting to Accounting Leadership, the Accounts Receivable Specialist will play a key role in supporting the company's order-to-cash process. This position is responsible for managing customer accounts, resolving billing issues, supporting collections, and ensuring accurate cash application while partnering with internal departments and external customers. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys investigating issues, building relationships, and improving processes.

Responsibilities

• Maintain customer account records, including billing information, tax exemptions, resale certificates, and payment terms.
• Investigate and resolve billing discrepancies, deductions, chargebacks, and payment issues in collaboration with customers and internal teams.
• Manage collections activities while documenting account history and maintaining accurate customer records.
• Process customer payments, refunds, credit memos, account adjustments, and cash applications.
• Reconcile B2B and ecommerce payment activity, including credit card transactions, returns, chargebacks, and unapplied cash.
• Respond to customer requests for invoices, statements, credit memos, and other account documentation.
• Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations to resolve fulfillment and billing issues affecting collections.
• Prepare accounts receivable reports, reconciliations, and month-end support schedules.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Accounts Receivable experience, including billing, collections, cash application, and order-to-cash processes.
• Associate degree in Accounting or a related field preferred.
• Experience with NetSuite is highly preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Strong attention to detail, organization, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
• Understanding of accounting principles and internal controls.
• Ability to support month-end close activities as needed.
