Logistics Specialist

We are a national staffing firm and are currently seeking a Logistics Specialist for a prominent client of ours. This position is located in Gaithersburg, MD or Tarzana, CA. Details of the position are as follows:


Job Details:

• 10-month assignment, probability of extension.
• Monday - Friday, On site, standard hours.
• The Logistics Specialist role is highly detail-oriented and mission critical, with a strong focus on the patient journey in a regulated pharmaceutical/biotech environment.
• Seeking candidates with Logistics coordination experience, especially involving booking and tracking shipments, updating spreadsheets, and supporting chain of identity and custody processes for patient materials.
• Cross-functional collaboration skills; the role requires frequent, professional communication with various internal customers and partners
• Time management and prioritization abilities to handle multiple, competing priorities
• Strong attention to detail and maturity in handling sensitive and regulated tasks
• Professionalism, empathy, a can-do attitude, and eagerness to help with all tasks, even small ones
• Industry preference is for pharmaceutical or biotech backgrounds, but they are open to related experience (e.g., quality control, manufacturing operators with SOP experience interested in supply chain)
• Openness to flexible work hours and a willingness to adapt to patient needs and business requirement

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 5+ Years Experience in biopharma clinical or commercial logistics, supply chain, or cell therapy operations, with hands-on involvement in time-critical or highly controlled logistics environments or patient operations.
• Cell therapy experience is strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of GDP, GxP, and GMP requirements, including documentation accuracy and deviation awareness in regulated operations.
• Experience with Excel, Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet for operational reporting and tracking.

• Experience in autologous cell therapy, clinical trial logistics, or control tower / real-time monitoring environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of patient and order orchestration, COI/COC controls, and the execution requirements of specialized cold chain, cryogenic, or time-sensitive logistics preferred.
• Experience with cell orchestration platforms, courier or logistics service provider portals, and operational tracking systems preferred.
