Lead Preschool Teacher & After School Teacher

Pay: $15.00–$17.00/hour, depending on position and experience

The Lilypad Farm School is growing our team! We are currently hiring for two separate teaching positions: a Full-Time Lead Preschool Teacher and a Part-Time Afterschool Teacher.

Lilypad provides a developmentally appropriate, nature-based learning environment where children learn through engaging curriculum, outdoor exploration, gardens, animals, and hands-on experiences.

POSITION 1: LEAD PRESCHOOL TEACHER

Full-Time | Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM

Position Overview

We are looking for a highly qualified, energetic, and nurturing Lead Preschool Teacher to love, nurture, and educate our preschool students.

The ideal candidate will have strong classroom management skills and experience planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys creating a stimulating, engaging classroom while building strong relationships with children and their families.

Responsibilities

• Plan and teach lessons in small- and large-group settings
• Provide targeted instruction based on each child's current developmental and academic abilities
• Create engaging learning experiences using songs, games, art, science, and hands-on activities
• Maintain a loving, nurturing, structured classroom environment
• Maintain appropriate supervision and required classroom ratios
• Use developmentally appropriate classroom and behavior management techniques
• Maintain a clean, organized, safe, and welcoming classroom
• Communicate regularly with parents through verbal and electronic updates
• Follow Child Care Regulation requirements and Texas Minimum Standards

POSITION 2: AFTER SCHOOL TEACHER

Part-Time | Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM–6:30 PM

Pay: $15.00–$16.50/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a warm, energetic, and dependable Afterschool Teacher to support our preschool classrooms during the middle of the day before transitioning into our school-age afterschool program.

This teacher will cover lunch and planning breaks, receive students during afternoon arrival, and lead our afterschool group through snack, outdoor play, homework assistance, and hands-on enrichment activities across our farm and gardens.

Responsibilities

• Cover lunch and planning breaks in preschool classrooms while following established routines and maintaining required ratios
• Receive school-age students during afternoon arrival and maintain accurate rosters and head counts
• Lead the afterschool program through 6:30 PM
• Provide and supervise snack, outdoor play, homework help, and enrichment
• Plan engaging activities including art, science, technology, games, and nature-based experiences
• Supervise students closely during transitions, outdoor activities, and dismissal
• Communicate with parents regarding activities, needs, incidents, and concerns
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe program spaces
• Conduct safety checks of equipment and supplies
• Follow Child Care Regulation requirements and Texas Minimum Standards
• Valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record preferred for afternoon van pickup routes; no CDL required

REQUIREMENTS FOR BOTH POSITIONS

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a licensed childcare facility
• Strong classroom management and child supervision skills
• Knowledge of child development and developmentally appropriate practices
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Patient, dependable, energetic, and nurturing
• First Aid, Pediatric First Aid, and CPR certification
• Must be willing to complete all required background checks
• Must be comfortable remaining active throughout the shift and participating in indoor and outdoor activities
