Phlebotomist II – 1st ShiftLivonia, MI 48152 Contract End Date: February 27, 2027 Shift: 1st Shift, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM ET | 40 hours/weekPosition OverviewThe Phlebotomist II / Patient Services Representative II (PSR II) serves as the face of the organization for patients visiting for routine health services and important diagnostic testing. The position is responsible for collecting high-quality blood and other clinical specimens, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, accurately documenting patient information, and providing a safe, professional, and compassionate patient experience. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong phlebotomy skills, attention to detail, customer service, confidentiality, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform venipuncture and other specimen collection procedures accurately, safely, and efficiently.Collect and process clinical and forensic specimens according to established policies and procedures.Perform Pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.Verify patient demographic information and obtain required initials/signatures.Confirm specimen tube labelling with the patient immediately following venipuncture.Ensure patient names and specimen labels are accurate and complete.Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing in accordance with established procedures.Maintain accurate records and required documentation.Follow all company policies and procedures, including confidentiality, safety, dress code, and employee health requirements.Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment.Provide excellent customer service and create an atmosphere of trust and confidence for patients.Communicate effectively and professionally with patients, coworkers, supervisors, and clients.Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.Work independently with minimal on-site supervision while exercising sound judgment.Support multiple Patient Service Centers and/or In-Office Phlebotomy locations based on business needs.Travel between locations and provide coverage with minimal notice when required.Work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, on-call assignments, and overtime as needed.Demonstrate adaptability and the ability to embrace process and operational changes.Required QualificationsEducation:High school diploma or equivalent required.Medical Assistant or Paramedic training preferred.Phlebotomy certification preferred.Phlebotomy certification is required in California, Nevada, and Washington.Experience:Minimum 3 years of phlebotomy experience required.Experience must include: Pediatric collections, Geriatric collections, Capillary collections.Minimum 2 years of Patient Service Center experience preferred.Customer service experience in a retail or service environment preferred.Keyboarding and data-entry experience required.
