About the Role:

The Fitness Instructor (PRN Days) plays a vital role in promoting health and wellness by delivering personalized and group fitness instruction on an as-needed basis. This position focuses on motivating clients to achieve their fitness goals through safe, effective, and engaging exercise programs tailored to individual needs and abilities. The instructor will assess client fitness levels, provide expert guidance on proper exercise techniques, and adapt workouts to accommodate various health conditions and fitness backgrounds. By fostering a positive and inclusive environment, the Fitness Instructor encourages consistent participation and helps clients build sustainable healthy habits. Ultimately, this role contributes to improving the overall well-being and quality of life of the community served.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization (e.g., ACE, NASM, ACSM).
• CPR/AED certification and knowledge of emergency response procedures.
• Demonstrated experience leading fitness classes or personal training sessions.
• Experience working with special populations, including seniors or individuals with chronic conditions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional specialty certifications such as group fitness, yoga, Pilates, or strength training.
• Background in nutrition coaching or wellness counseling.
• Familiarity with fitness technology and tracking software.
• Previous experience in a PRN or flexible scheduling role.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct fitness assessments to evaluate clients' physical condition and establish appropriate exercise plans.
• Lead individual and group exercise sessions, ensuring proper form, safety, and motivation throughout.
• Develop customized workout programs that align with clients' goals, limitations, and preferences.
• Monitor client progress and adjust fitness plans as needed to optimize results and prevent injury.
• Provide education on nutrition, lifestyle habits, and injury prevention to support holistic wellness.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming fitness environment in compliance with health and safety standards.
• Stay current with industry trends, certifications, and best practices to continuously enhance instructional quality.

Skills:

The Fitness Instructor utilizes their expertise in exercise science and instructional techniques daily to design and lead effective fitness sessions that meet client needs. Strong communication skills are essential for clearly demonstrating exercises, providing motivation, and educating clients on health topics. Adaptability allows the instructor to modify workouts in real-time based on client feedback and physical capabilities. Organizational skills help manage scheduling, client progress tracking, and maintaining a safe workout environment. Additionally, proficiency with fitness technology enhances the ability to monitor results and engage clients through modern tools.
