Minimum 1-year current acute care hospital L&D RN experience. BLS, ACLS, NRP, EFM-C or AWHONN. Description: This position is for a traveling RN specializing in Labor and Delivery. The assigned unit has 26 beds, with a staff comprising several nurses, surgical technicians, and unit clerks. Staffing ratios are 1:1 for high-risk labor c-sections and 1:2 for antepartum and patients on magnesium. Common procedures include C-sections, inductions, AROM, IUPC, DFM, and Doppler monitoring. The unit utilizes various equipment including Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, Monica Novii telemetry, and GE monitors. The atmosphere is supportive, with a strong leadership team that assists nurses as needed. Staff satisfaction is enhanced through self-scheduling and a team nursing approach. The unit has many tenured staff members with extensive experience. New attending support has been implemented to aid nurses working in triage. A compassionate, caring, friendly, patient, and solutions-oriented personality is ideal for this role. Emerging technology and equipment contribute to a rewarding work environment.
